..must...keep...going....

Well after a looooong break, and then the announcement of KS3, I have found some new time (and energy) to continue on.

After a foray into Boriel Basic and Z80 to see if I could replicate most of the functionality, I have gone back to Next Basic because it just has so much sprite functionality (mainly sprite over and sprite continue), and whilst the editor is limited on the Next, I dont have the same issues with sound drivers crashing all over the place that I had in Boriel Basic / Z80.  Its all almost certainly down to my ability to debug at that level, and I can progress more quickly in Next Basic (speed being relative here as its been a year !!)

After realizing that over printing was never going to work in Layer 2, I've moved to sprite based lettering.  There are still a few issues with character detection on platforms with Erbert (it reminds me of Monty Mole !), I need to work out, but it increases the amusement factor !

Most of the game is there, I'm just working on level progression, and maybe introducing some other features to make more interesting.  Running around collecting gems against the clock for a high score only has limited appeal, but then it is designed for kids.

I'll post some more screenshots and video when I get a chance.
